You may be fairly well organized and just want to fine tune your office systems.
Or, you may need expert advice and assistance to eliminate unnecessary items, simplify processes and incorporate tools and systems to improve your effectiveness and reduce stress.
In either case, after assessing your current environment, organizing solutions are developed for space planning, paper management, clutter control and improving business processes. Solutions are customized to work for you and your individual style.
My goal is to identify solutions that address your specific challenges and to teach you how to apply organizational principles on your own. I don’t force my own style or preferences on my clients; instead we work together to find systems that work with each person’s individual style. I do, however, believe in keeping things simple. The more complex and difficult the process, the less likely you’ll be to use it. So I look for simple and easy strategies to help you stay organized.
The process begins with a brief phone conversation to assess your needs and begin to determine the cause and impact of the clutter and disorganization. We then work either side-by-side at your location, or we work together by phone, and webcam if you wish, to help you achieve results in the following areas.
Coaching
As the client develops new organizing habits, discussions may occur around motivation, support, beginning again, re-framing negativity, problem solving and learning how to deal with obstacles. Any situation can be optimized, turned around or improved, and with a Coach it can happen much more quickly. As a result, our relationship becomes a powerful alliance between two equals for the purpose of meeting your needs. Coaching is not psychological counseling--the focus is on the future, not on the past--and I am not qualified to diagnose or treat anyone. Coaching is done by phone, typically 2-4 hours per month.
Presentations and Training
I regularly present programs and training workshops on organizing techniques, time management practices and ways to simplify one’s life.
Contact me if you would like schedule a presentation or workshop for your group.
The feedback we received from the audience was outstanding on your knowledge of the topic, the quality of your presentation, your ability to get the audience involved in the presentation, your enthusiasm, and most importantly, your motivation.
Chronic Disorganization and Collaborative Therapy
Frequently, clients are living with attention deficit disorder (AD/HD), anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors or other brain-based conditions that contribute to chronic disorganization and limit them from achieving the quality of life they seek. Some people have difficulty with organization because of the amount of things they own, or the inability to make decisions about them. Similarly, some people have difficulty at work maintaining their schedule, meeting deadlines and achieving their full potential at work.
The words I hear most frequently are, “I’m just so overwhelmed!” Recognizing that it takes courage to allow someone to come into their environment, I try to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to help you find a better way to manage your paper, your space and your time.
One element of service involves a holistic approach called Collaborative Therapy. Along with an AD/HD Coach and selected medical professionals or healthcare providers we help clients become more effective in minimizing distractions, managing their time, getting to work on time, eliminating clutter, and increasing their efficiency and productivity at work.
- The Healthcare Provider’s evaluation is critical to the accurate diagnosis of AD/HD and/or other related issues and existing conditions. Treatment includes various solution-focused and therapeutic techniques. But if the therapist does not specialize in these disorders, the client may not receive the equally important tactical tools necessary to manage his or her day-to-day life activities.
- The AD/HD Coach helps the client develop a more complete awareness of his/her attentional difficulties and builds structures to manage their internal confusion. Encouragement and recommendations are provided through coaching and life skills training to help the client achieve self-empowerment and positive changes.
- The Professional Organizer helps in identifying and prioritizing the client’s goals. Organizing and decluttering is a process that often challenges the emotional and physical connection to their possessions, but results in the ability to manage their lives and possessions more effectively than ever before.

Engagement Guidelines
- I view our work as a partnership, working together to address a need or solve a problem. As a result, I will not make judgments about you or your environment and strive to treat you with the utmost respect and compassion. I encourage open and honest communication as the best defense against frustration and disappointment and welcome your feedback for changes or recommendations.
- On-site appointments are booked in blocks of 2.5 hours. Coaching by phone appointments are 1/2 to 1 hour in length.
- Rates are competitive for the Portland area and retainer pricing is available.
- I am results driven and work efficiently to provide the most value for your expenditure. I look for ways to utilize items you already have as an alternative to purchasing new organizing tools and items.
- Hiring a Professional Organizer is like hiring any other professional; you may be capable of doing simple plumbing work but choose to hire someone with more expertise, or who can complete the job more quickly so you are free to do other more important things. The cost of a Professional Organizer can be minimal compared to the cost of missed appointments, loss of credibility resulting from missed deadlines, and the cost of ineffective and unproductive business practices.
- Cancellations are preferred by phone, 24 hours in advance of scheduled time. A cancellation fee may be charged if advance notice is not given.
- It is very important that you are able to focus on the session so that all time is productive and cost effective. Organizing and de-cluttering involves a lot of decision making and can be an emotionally draining process. Therefore, I encourage you to have adequate rest and a healthy meal prior to organizing sessions and have snacks and water available for yourself to maintain a high energy level. Distractions should be minimized and it is recommended that, except for emergencies, phone calls go to voicemail.
- I carry business liability insurance and I assure you that nothing is ever disposed of without your knowledge and approval.
- Because your satisfaction is my priority, I guarantee my work and invite your feedback if you feel your expectations have not been met for process and results.
